Correct, using CD-RW helps to save money for testing.

If "cdrfe" is creating a cue sheet that is not accepted by the drive, then this 
is either caused by a bug in the firmware of the drive or by a non-standard 
created by "cdrfe".

This seems to verify that the CUE sheet is not 100% correct as is is accepted 
by the drive after it was slightly modified by cdrecord.

So you need to to send a bugreport against cderfe.

If cdrfe creates orders that result in images that cannot fit on the CD, you 
need to make a bug report against cdrfe.

The result depends on whether you created a correct ISO image first and whether 
the image did fit on the CD.
