Hey, I was wondering if anybody could give me some tips on why my CD-R might not be working. It's an Artec 8x4x32, IDE on kernel 2.2.16 (stock RH7), with ide-scsi mapping /dev/hdd -> /dev/scd0. I can burn TAO, DAO, and data just fine from Windows (Nero 5), as well as TAO and data under linux. When I try to burn as DAO under Linux, I get this output (the error happens *immediately* after the countdown ends -- no delay): megacz@localhost$ls 01.wav 02.wav megacz@localhost$file * 01.wav: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, Microsoft PCM, 16 bit, stereo 44100 Hz 02.wav: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, Microsoft PCM, 16 bit, stereo 44100 Hz megacz@localhost$sudo cdrecord --dev=0,0,0 -dao -audio -pad -eject *.wav Cdrecord 1.9 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2000 J Device type : Removable CD-ROM Version : 0 Response Format: 1 Vendor_info : 'IDE-CD ' Identifikation : 'R/RW 8x4x32 ' Revision : ' 1.5' Device seems to be: Generic mmc CD-RW. No data is written to the disc. I get the same error with -speed=1 as well. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks for any help! - a -- "Nobody has any 'Rights'.
