I wonder if it is the the cd writer's problem with the assumption that the
laser beam powers are different for cdr and cdrw. Suppose the cdr requires
stronger beam power and if the laser device cannot provide that power then
it will cause the cdr to be unreliably written. The power from the laser
device may still be good enough for the cdrw discs.
It is just my guess. The experts would be able to tell if my assumption is
correct.
