I seem to have a rather frustrating problem.
On my system (RedHat 7.0 linux-2.4.3-pre3) specifying any speed=n
where n is greater than 4 results in the following...

Starting to write CD/DVD at speed 4 in write mode for single session.
Last chance to quit, starting real write in 9 seconds.

Notice that it has reset my speed to 4, not 16 as I specified with
speed=16.

I downloaded the latest cdrtools and even that gernerates the
same behavior.
http://www.fokus.gmd.de/research/cc/glone/employees/joerg.schilling/private/cdwriters-1.9.html
indicates that this drive is supported.

Anybody have any ideas what I am doing wrong?

(For the more technically minded... It is the call to cdr_set_speed_dummy
that reset the speed. But I can't figure out which specific function
the cdr_set_speed_dummy pointer points to. sigh...)

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

- Jeff
