Many of you have written to me asking what has happened to Purehumour and so this announcement (not being sent through the regular list mail) should help explain what is happening!
Since February 21st 2003 Purehumour has not been going out to all subscribers for some reason. My webhost and I are working to try and determine what has happened to cause this problem. But since it is taking so long to do I have decided to take matters into my own hands (so to speak) and attempt to fix the problem myself! This email is the first step into fixing the problem.
I have thousands of email addresses listed on Purehumour and really no way to check the validity of any of them unless I send out individual emails to all subscribers and see if they bounce. Any bouncing email addresses (addresses that are unreachable) will be removed from the list immediately as this could be part of the problem! Once I have a list of good email addresses again I will be recreating the list using a NEW name. This new list will be operating from purehumour.com instead of paulsfunhouse.com (although they are both basically the same address).
If your address is listed as a good address (if you do not bounce and if you DO NOT REPLY to this email) .. .then you will be added to the new list automatically. At that point I will test the new list and hopefully it will go through as planned. Until that time I am suspending the publication of Purehumour Joke Ezine because it takes about an hour and a half to create each issue and I don't feel that it is getting to the number of subscribers that it should.
I am also in the process of creating a method of reading the current issues on the web...but that still requires a bit of work.
