Here is the additional output you requested, the CD-RW is a RICOH,
printed with blue silkscreen ink, reading (from the top):

CD-RW COMPACT DISC REWRITABLE RICOH RICOH COMPANY, LTD. MADE IN JAPAN
TYPE 74 650MB

I have an even dozen of them, bought at the same time as a 100 count
stack of standard CD-R media from the RICOH online store. The serial
numbers all vary in the last five digits, but the start series is:
R2197302xxxxx.

The same behaviour occurs on every CD-RW I have (currently only
RICOH). I am searching for another brand to try that and will post
once I have procured and tested.
