It turned out that dvd+rw-tools 5.15/.16 suffer from subtle HP-UX kernel bug. growisofs (and other programs) may exhibit random behaviour such as dumping core or failure to proceed with invalid file descriptor error. The bug is recognized by HP and kernel patches are scheduled for release, but not for *immediate* release. On the other hand it's the kind of bug which is possible to work around in user-land and future dvd+rw-tools will do it "just in case." For the moment of this writing code working around this kernel deficiency is available upon explicit request (in other words send an e-mail:-). I've decided to do this for following reasons:
- amount of HP-UX users is very limited; - I'd very much like to have more feedback on HP-UX support; - 5.15/.16 were released recently, there is no point to rush for 5.17; This does not mean an attempt to "close" the dvd+rw-tools code! It's merely an attempt to "shake" HP-UX users for feedback. Happy New Year! A. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
