*Write* speeds reported through page 2A by NEC units [and their derivatives] are those applicable to CD-R[W] and are essentially bogus in DVD context. In other words one can't use the above values to judge if unit in question has erroneously recognized 4x media as 2x. The effective speed values for currently mounted DVD media are returned by NEC units through GET PERFORMANCE command, and not through page 2A. This is not violation of MMC specification, because page 2A was declared as "no longer recommended for use in multi-media devices."
