I just got the following error with growisofs when trying to burn a dvd iso:
growisofs -Z /dev/scd0=docs.iso :-( unable to GET CONFIGURATION: Operation not permitted :-( non-MMC unit?
I bet it's almost needless to mention that 2.6.8 introduced in certain degree unexpected change of programming interface, which is the culprit here. The problem will be addressed in upcoming dvd+rw-tools 5.21 update at the cost of "rewarding" dvd+rw-tools with set-root-uid capability. Note that it's not sufficient to set-root-uid 5.20. Meanwhile stick to 2.6.7. A.
