According to articles on rather good webmag cdr.cz (sorry, czech only)
Lite-ON units are inconsistent in PI/PO results. They tested a lot of
units and found out that some of them (say, 50%) return accurate
results, and some of them (say, remaining 50%) return absolutely bogus
values.

No idea if Plextor units always return accurate results, but results
from tested Plextor units match results from the first half of Lite-ON
units. Does not look like accident.
