Yes DMA is enabled
If you have the HD and the burner on the same IDE cable they *may* be
interfering with each other. If you can try putting the burner on
another cable it would give you a data point, and might help.
I assume that your burner really is faster than the speed you are
seeing, and you're using fast media.
