Actually mkisofs speaking here:
> 0.09% done, estimate finish Fri Feb 17 19:44:01 2006

This is from growisofs:
> /dev/hdc: "Current Write Speed" is 4.1x1385KBps.

mkisofs did finish successfully:

Now growisofs tries to finish.

No error message to spot, though.

I guess you get above "growisofs did not exit cleanly :P"
from K3b. Probably K3b really got a non zero exit value
from growisofs indicating that something went wrong.

For this option i am too much a coward.
Andy was so kind to implement ...=noload .
Nevertheless this should not be a reason for a non-zero exit.

Given your previous problems with K3b+growisofs this might
be related to burner+media. But usually growisofs should
issue some kind of error message with a little frown in
such a case.

I assume that K3b tried to make rewritable your media via
  dvd+rw-format -blank=full /dev/hdc
and failed. cdrecord-ProDVD obviously did not fail but possibly
the media are still not good for growisofs.

Two things could be tried:

  dvd+rw-format -force /dev/hdc
to achieve DVD-RW mode "Restricted Overwrite" which will avoid
the need to blank or format the media before re-use by growisofs.
Then try K3b+growisofs again with that media.
(If you blank the media by cdrecord-ProDVD you get back into
a state that demands blanking before re-use. If you format it
by dvd+rw-format -blank=full /dev/hdc you will also get back
to the state which is only writeable once and then needs
-blank=full again. You always need to blank before re-using
 DVD-RW with cdrecord-ProDVD.)

  mkisofs ... | cdrecord-ProDVD ...
You will have to study man mkisofs and man cdrecord, or read
one of the many CD/DVD burning tutorials, or get a frontend to
cdrecord-ProDVD for that.
I can offer a non-GUI frontend which is about as hard to use
as commands ls or cp. One has to do some initial setup, though.
Contact me, if you are interested. It can use both, growisofs
and cdrecord-ProDVD.

As Andy states on growisofs' webpage, cdrecord-ProDVD uses
a burn method which is different from the two methods of
growisofs. So it might be worth a try.

Have a nice day :)
