In 1998, Pioneer did give a 30 year warranty on DVD-R media. In general, DVDs have a higher probability for reliability as there are at least two plastic layers that are joined with hot-glue while CDs only have a paintwork coating. It would be nice if there was an official way to read the error correction info. >From my current experiences, I would recommend Verbatim media.
