Hello, Using growisofs on a Fedora 12 x86_64, with a Plextor PX-B920SA blu-ray, connected via SATA cables.
Did: growisofs -Z /dev/sr0 -R -J /home/troels/for_bd This resulted in: ... 99.97% done, estimate finish Mon Dec 21 17:15:28 2009 Total translation table size: 0 Total rockridge attributes bytes: 26649 Total directory bytes: 0 Path table size(bytes): 10 Max brk space used 42000 8878071 extents written (17339 MB) builtin_dd: 8878080*2KB out @ average 0.7x4390KBps /dev/sr0: flushing cache /dev/sr0: closing track /dev/sr0: closing session :-[ CLOSE SESSION failed with SK=5h/INVALID FIELD IN CDB]: Input/output error I ignored the error message, and proceeded: growisofs -M /dev/sr0=/dev/zero From this, I got: Executing 'builtin_dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sr0 obs=32k seek=554894' :-( capacity is undefined or insane? :-( write failed: Invalid argument End result: The files were all on the disk, with correct sizes, but MD5sums don't match.
