Is it actually the drive making the click sound? If so, it sounds like a bad drive. You can throw the drive at the WD drive tester and see what it reports--it won't necessarily find every physical problem, but it usually finds the most egregious ones. (Unfortunately the WD tester is a DOS program, so you can't run it under CentOS.
