I wanted to confirm that I also find that Ceph Jewel (10.2.0) on Xenial feels considerably slower than Ceph Infernals (9.2.0) felt on Trusty. I used to regularly sustain reads/writes of 90 MB/s from my desktop to my Ceph cluster, and now normally sustain 50 MB/s, maybe spiking to 85 MB/s. The cluster was an in-place upgrade, and my setup is with 2x replication. My desktop hasn't changed.
I'm waiting for Ubuntu to release Ceph 10.2.2 packages (hopefully with 16.04.1) to see if that helps. Kate
