BASMAL's major concern should be to make sure the athletes are available for the finals, otherwise what would the Tournament be if teams cant afford to make it?? Hence in my opinion before even considering the prize money, all stops shud have been pulled to make sure teams do come to BT!! We understand that the budget is limited, but guys its even tougher times for individuals....some have to ask from parents for money, others from friends!!
With this budget, BASMAL is not meeting any extra cost for traveling players, we will all get lunch (including SOZOBAL players). This is why we always say when it comes to these games, SOZOBAL is favored, at least when it comes to Logistics. I know for sure if you asked SOZOBAL teams to meet their own transport to play in Mzuzu they would hear none of it...I played in SOZOBAL, I know. We, as the players, would like to ask BASMAL to consider our well-being, so that we can play and enjoy the game!! Last year, BASMAL booked a nice bus for SOZOBAL teams, and i remember telling Ben that next time we are traveling, we would also want such consideration a it was a very welcome development!!! I cant believe 12 months down the line we go worse that previous years when at least transport only was provided!! I wonder what will happen in LL and MZ teams say they cant manage to come???
