The XBOX is supposed to be out this year, AFTER windows XP launches.
XP is launching in October (supposedly).
They are supposed to have been totally finished with the XBOX hardware, and
its now up to the software developers to meet the launch deadline.
i.e. expect some buggy titles at launch..you'll probably have to download
patches and stuff ROFL! :)
Actually I hope not..but it is a possibility with the broadband connection
and Hard disk.
The Xbox is an absolutely fantastic gaming console! :)
BUt I still feel that PC Gaming will continue to leap frog the console.
Have you seen previews of the game Max Payne?? That is for the PC and to me
it matches some of the screenshots I've seen on the Xbox :)
However..I will still be saving that US$400.00 to buy the system when it is
released.
Carigamer.com isn't a game hosting site, although I have not ruled that out.
Right now it is supposed to be a source for news information about the
gaming arena, both Console and PC, as well as providing reviews, interviews
and articles. We don't have any sections targeted for specific game titles
yet.
We have an article up now on the changing landscape of Gaming in the
Caribbean (actaully just Trinidad but doh tell nobody lol).
We will look toward hosting other sites in the future, but right now I am
just preparing for the influx of local people to the site once we start this
ad campaign, and making sure it can stand up to the expected load (which
isn't that much hee hee).
The Tournament is going to be Fifa 2000 on PSX. We not in a position to do
one with Computers yet, like Quake III because of the infrastructure, cost,
and administrative overhead that entails. Getting those machines, setting
them up..and monitoring the games. The consoles are much much simpler to run
:)
We will probably try Quake 3,Tribes2, or Counterstrike nearer the end of the
year. By far Q3 is the most popular in Trinidad though.
We are looking for people to write some cool reviews and articles for us
though, so if you know anyone that wants to break into journalism and get
their articles up (good for resumes heh heh) lemme know ^_^
