Recall the thread from a while back re: Road Rage.
A participant from the South talked about "fighting words"
and how in that culture words alone could justify a violent response.
Well, to me the upraised middle finger is an extremely provocative gesture.
I only know of one meaning for it in this country.
And re: "to whom", it would be "in the face" of whomever saw it.
IMHO that is not humor, not even a bad pun.
And if it's an "attitude", then to me personally it's not an attitude I want
to wear.
And if the stated message is "bite me" as you put it, then I REALLY don't
like it.
I wear t-shirts for a lot of different reasons.
Possibly starting a fight is not one of them.
(Especially after being the victim of an assault, and
reading some of the posts on this list in the prior thread.)
