I think intelligence leaks may help the enemy.  Just like leaving your door
unlocked may facilitate a burglary.  The risk vs reward is substantially
tilted in the favor of making sure everything is locked up.  Of course
political ambition often turns a blind eye to national security.  That
said, in this particular incident one has to ask which is worse.  The
possible harm that an intelligence leak can cause or the possible harm that
can be caused by a President who ,potentially, failed to take into account
all possible intelligence before leading/forcing the US into war on foreign
soil.

I'm not certain either way that such a gaff did or didn't occur but it is
very legitimate to ask these questions.  Unfortunately, the one' that are
best equipped to ask these questions are the ones put in situations where
they are unable to due to career risks or career restraints.
