Thanks.  I feel proud as well.

However,  we still have progress to be made:
1.  First, the total number of voters was still too low.  We should be 80%+
IMHO
2.  The level of education of the average voter seems to still be lower then
it should be.  We need to find better ways to get better information on
candidates positions and records to the masses (not everyone has access to
the great exchange on this list!)
3.  We need an active, vibrant, meaningful 3rd party to add a check and
balance to the two parties that exist today

I have no idea if the counts of the normal ballots, the provisional ballots
and the absentee ballots have been finished. But I am very impressed with
the voters. Long lines out onto the street even before opening hours is an
impressive accomplishment for any democracy nowadays. The enthousiasm people
are showing to vote is something that reminds me of the first elections in
South Africa where black people were allowed to vote. It is amazing how,
despite all the procedural fuckups and the legal bullshit, the voters have
succeeded in making this election a shining example for everyone around the
world.
