Don't you just love Microsoft ;) I set up Suse Linux on an old machine recently to try it out as a development server, there was a fair learning curve but I still swear it was quicker than setting up a Microsoft server properly - and CF runs like a dream on it.

All 3 of them are XP Pro. I saw a technote about disabling file sharing on the 2000 server temporarily while adding machines to the domain but I tried that and it didn't help. Right now the 2 of the XP machines having problems were removed from the domain and they are browsing the network fine and seeing each other fine. I setup their local machine accounts with the same username/password as their network accounts and they can get on the server shares fine as well. Just took down an NT 4 server and put up a new Windows 2000 Server. I took all the clients XP, 2000 and removed the workstations to a workgroup and then readded one by one to the new PDC. The 2 out of 3 xp machines had problems. I was getting errors but managed to get them all joined back to the domain and their domain user accounts added. Now the machines can't connect to the share drives on the PDC. It is not authenticating them even though I'm logging into the domain. One XP machine, the only one with SP2 has had no problems at all. I don't know if SP2 is the solution or not, I haven't installed it on one of the others. The 2000 client would not join the domain until I upgraded it to XP, now it joined and is having no problems.
