We also had a white geo metro. 160,000 miles on it and it was still getting about 55 mpg. Then in 2000 it was totalled by the guy who delivers our paper - he fell asleep while driving in our parking lot and he ran straight into the geo. Insurance gave us just under 3000 for it.
Now I drive a nerdcar - a 2000 Saturn station wagon with a roof rack. There's almost nothing it can carry.
