I've yet to read the books, but the movie actually looks really good. I do so appreciate a "children's" film that doesn't treat them like idiots (anybody else have to sit the complete travesty's that were "The Cat in the Hat" and "The Grinch")?
I didn't read any "Harry Potter" until the fourth book had come out - then I read them all voraciously. Funny thing tho' - aside from the REALLY big events I really couldn't tell you what happened in them. Usually I'm pretty good at retaining things, but honestly when we saw the last movie the fact that Lupin was a werewolf came as a complete surprise. I think I'm getting old.
