I'm relatively new to FreeBSD and am having a bit of trouble getting Xorg up and running on my laptop. I've searched the handbook, FAQ, Google, and FreeBSD newsgroups to no avail. After following the handbook instructions to set up an xorg.conf =66ile (the command xorg -configure actually hangs my system, so I used both xorgcfg -textmode and xorgconf to generate the file) everytime I run startx(1) or Xorg(1) the system hangs. Checking out the /var/log/xorg.0.log file shows the final item as: (II) Loading sub module "ddc" (II) LoadModule: "ddc" (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/mofules/libddc.a (II) Module ddc: vendor=3D"X.Org Foundation" compiled for 6.7.0, module version =3D 1.0.0 ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.7 Everytime I run this it hangs, I CTRL-ALT-DEL to shut it down and this is the place where the log file ends - EVERY TIME. Here's my specs: Toshiba Satellite 1805-S203 (yes, I know it's not on the compatible list) 800MHz Pentium II (I believe... it's been a while since I've had to quote specs) 128M RAM 15G HD =46reeBSD 5.3-RELEASE (Build date: 16 October 2004) Xorg (X11, Release 6.7)=20 Any thoughts or help of any kind would be greatly appreciated. I discovered Revolution a=20= few month ago. So I decided to buy Dreamcard to test it. I am very surprised by the reactions of this application: After a few hours of use: - the keyboard shortcuts (copy/past for example) don't work any more - the Inspector button in the toolbar don't work (the inspector palette=20= don't open or twice) - the name of an element (stack or field) change without typing=20 something in the field name in the basic properties so I close the stack without saving and I open it again: the "new"=20 name is still present - each time I click-right on a word in the script window a new=20 Documentation stack open and appear in the Application Browser: after 1=20= hour, the Application Browser is full of stacks - I tried to develop a small application for a french environment: I=20 had much problems with the accents. - etc. It's as if the interface was unstable, not finished. If Revolution is the same, I am not certain that it is possible to=20 develop an application for a big company or an official administration. And if you don't understand or write english, you should not hope to=20 obtain any support ! At the beginning I was very exited by Revolution, but finally I'm=20 totally disappointed.
