So apparently you have to open two different pipes (named as well) correct?

media...
Bueno gente sigamos alentando y disfrutando

I find it helpful to compare list comprehensions to nested loops & ifs
in imperative languages, so that eg

   [ E | v1 <- E1, pred2, v3 <- E3 ]

'does the same thing as'

   for( v1 <- E1 ){
      if( pred2 ){
         for( v3 <- E3){
            put-elem-in-resulting-list( E )
         }
      }
   }

(Putting my School Board Member hat on)

Often, even if the administration wants to levy it, the board won't. It
tends to be one of those "just because you can, doesn't mean you should"
situations. Chris is exactly right about small towns -- especially
where the main "industry" is still the family farm. The board I am on
has never even maxed the ed fund levy in the 8 years I have been
serving. I'm sure they would not consider the nickel lease levy.

(Speaking with my other hat on)

Many administrators will not want to touch it unless they have to. Yes
legally they can do it, but especially in small communities, raising
taxes
is raising taxes no matter how you do it, and can be the kiss of death.
It's a fine line that has to be walked carefully. I certainly wouldn't
think many supts would go forth with it without some sort of input from
the
tax payers (even though they can legally).

We do not levy the $.05.

Just to expand on what Mr. Holmes said. Please unsubscribe from the
list or turn off your 'Out of Office' messages before going away for the
holidays. Many of us will filter you out when we get a message like
this, and chances are, we won't _remember_ to filter you back in when
the holidays are over.

us that kind of behavior doesn't usually show up until around 18-24
months. That didn't sit too well with me, but we tried one more night,
and that was all we could bear. Listening to her scream on the monitor

face="Arial,sans-serif" size="2">Hi, I'm pretty new to this list and
this is my first time responding.
I, too, am still nursing my almost 8 month old son. He went through a
terrible sleep pattern where I would rock him to sleep and the second I
bent into a 45 degree angle to put him in his crib, he startled away and
would scream his head off. I think a few things led him to this
separation anxiety...1) When he wakes up around 5:00 am I bring him to
bed with me to nurse and then to go to sleep together. 2) We would rock
him to sleep every night. There was nothing we could do to get him to
not wake up and cry when placed in his crib. I know there aren't too
many fans of the cry-it-out method but since I knew he was not hungry,
sick, or had a dirty diaper, I had to do something to get to sleep. We
started a bedtime routine...Change into pj's, feed, read 2 books, rock
for 100 rocks and then put in his crib. What we did was let him cry for
5 minutes and then check on him. We'd tell him it's okay, we love him
and to go to sleep. Then we'd wait another 10 minutes and go back in.
Then wait 15 minutes. The longest he ever cried was 30 minutes total.
Now, we put him in his crib and he's out in 30 seconds. And he doesn't
wake up until 5 or 6 am. It's bliss. I'm sure we were just lucky but I
thought I'd share in case it could help.

On a side note, if your baby is older he physically should be able to
sleep through the night (meaning 5 or 6) without getting hungry. But
every baby's different, right?
ugg.... so you can't even try to adjust your schedule
to theirs... eekkk. My Mom says that Terri and I were
like a dual alarm clock! We were almost always
wanting the SAME thing at the SAME time. They left us
together for most of elementary school... we were
trouble if spareated. Middle school was the first
"alone time" we had. I remember being excited and
scared at the same time. Terri said that she was
scared to death for the first 2 months everyday..
until we would have a class together. By eightth
grade... we were switching classes.... LOL. But that
first semester of 6th we didn't see each other until
it was time to leave.... we DID NOT like it!
> > Brennen seems to be going thru that too. He will
> NOT
> > sleep now until 1am. No matter what I do. I had
> both
> > the younger two going to bed at 7:30. It was soo
> > nice. Now even if I get him to go down then he is
> > back up at 9pm and will NOT go back down until
> 1am.
> > And he gets tricky with the nursing thing. You
> see,
> > he has figured out that if he nurses, he will fall
> to
> > sleep and he does NOT want that. It is espesially
> > hard with DH having to get up at 3:30am for work.
> He
> > has spent the last two nights on the couch :-(
> > Brennen will not settle for anyone else holding
> him
> > either. I hope this all changes soon... I am soo
> > Sorry I am not much help.... But I too have a VERY
> > > Hi, everyone, I need help. I nurse Faith to
> sleep
> > > for naps and at bedtime. We've had a lot of
> > > problems with her and sleep for quite some time,
> and
> > > it goes in spurts, but lately it's really
> wearing on
> > > me more and more. She goes down pretty good for
> > > naps most of the time. At night, sometimes it's
> a
> > > long, drawn-out battle (often well over an
> hour),
> > > other times she's asleep and I'm out of the room
> > > within a half hour (I LOVE those nights!!!). We
> > > usually try to get her in bed by 8:00, because
> that
> > > seems to work best for everyone. We have played
> > > around with the time a bit to try and make
> things
> > > better, but this time seems to work best. The
> > > problem is, once I do get her to sleep, she
> still
> > > wakes up a lot. I know that's normal,
> especially
> > > since I'm still nursing her and co-sleeping.
> But
> > > she wakes up at least twice before I even get to
> > > bed, which I try to usually by 10:00, 11 at the
> > > latest. It is getting so frustrating because
> she
> > > doesn't nap well (usually one half-hour nap a
> day,
> > > though lately she has been occasionally
> sleeping a
> > > bit more), so I don't really get a "break"
> during
> > > the day to get things done. I scramble at night
> > > after she goes to bed to rush and get the dishes
> > > done, laundry caught up, house cleaned, etc. My
> > > hubby is a great help with these things, but I
> feel
> > > bad because he works long hours and then does so
> > > much housework. And we still can't seem to keep
> up.
> > > I've relaxed a lot on the cleaning, but there's
> a
> > > point where you have to draw the line - I mean,
> > > laundry and dishes can only wait so long! DH
> and I
> > > hardly ever get time to just sit and spend time
> > > together, and I NEVER get "me" time. I can't
> even
> > > relax in a hot bath - every time I try, as soon
> as I
> > > get the tub filled and get in the tub, Faith
> wakes
> > > up. We've tried having him rock her to sleep,
> but
> > > she just keeps screaming until I go in and nurse
> > > her, even if I don't go in there for over an
> hour.
> > > I don't know what to do!!!! I don't want to
> wean
> > > her until she's ready, but that seems
> > > like the only "solution". Does anyone have any
> > > ideas to help????
