Either/Both. Science says that the world is X billion years old. Religion says that the world is X thousand years old from the creation of man. Before man there may have been billions of years or not. For those who have to have 6 days of creation be 24 hours a day, they have problems. For those who are open to a more interpritive approach, it doesn't matter much. I'm of the latter as are most I know.
