It's not so much those sites these days. An unprotected machine will be infected by many sites including things like msn.com. Even the advertising on zd-net pages is provided by companies that are rated as spyware by SpyBot and Ad-aware and SpywareBlaster. As a result, I can't view images on most of them. The big thing to avoid however is trialware. Or any freeware/shareware that is not free of malware (check user reviews). -Patrick
