What I dislike is the number of columns: 5 is too many. Depending on how many featured articles you intend to have vs. nrmal articles I think you should consider having your main content in just 2 columns, a wide one and a narrow one. Or maybe have the "Other news" (small) next to the featured articles (wide), with 2 equaly wide columns below that for the normal news.
