Yes. That scans OK. But, for the love of your sanity, rename that "j" variable. 

I (of course) used "j" because the result was an integer and I was sure there 
was an "i" integer variable somewhere above. (had it been a string, I would 
have used "b")

Can anyone tell me where that variable-naming rule was drilled into my head? I 
can't remember any longer. PL/I? Pascal? Fortran? Basic? Arg!
