Yea, after the graceful chip install on my Xbox, I bought a chip DMS3 from Divineo.com for my PS2 and then proceeded to crack open the little black box. Holy crap, Sony packed in quite a complicated array of pcbs and crazy ribbons. Then I started to read the directions and noticed just how impossibly small the 20+ contact points for the wires were.
Unless you are an expert solderer(?), I wouldn't dream of trying it yourself. If you are an expert solderer, I still have the DMS3 chip laying around, if you want it, send me an offer and I'll give it up for relatively cheap. You can order a pre-modded PS2 from ModChipMan.com (http://www.modchipman.com/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=153) They used to have model 9s & 10s for $170 inc s/h (before the PSTwo came out.) They are supposedly a honest company. Another thing to note, there aren't really any "good" reasons to install a chip in the PS2, the xbox has some very well developed, home-brew programs that were ahead it's time, while a modded PS2 is only really good at playing your "backups". -----Original Message----- From: Won Lee [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 06, 2005 11:20 AM To: CF-Community Subject: Re: XBOX issues Tyler wrote: > Who did you get the warranty from? I get some SPAM now and then about MODs for PS2 etc. I assume that MODs do exist. I'm wondering what MODs are legitimate and worth the money. Anyone have their PS2 MODed? -- 2004 - The year $184M couldn't buy a pennant.
