What I am saying is insane is the fact that someone can consider a legal
case against it!

The real problem here this is that somebody called a group of protesters
"insane" for standing up against things they believe are wrong, as if it was

No it is not a crime and should never be regarded as such.   To say it's a
crime is to say that religion is 'real' and for those who do not believe in
it should not be tarnished.  Racism is a crime because creed and colour are
real and tangible so people who are racially motivated should be
punished/banned etc...
