Sorry all, I was in a LONG ass meeting. I like the effort that everyone has put forth so far, though!
So, here are the answers to the questions while i was gone: Dana, yes, I am in New England, so I doubt anything that has 'desert' in the name would last more than five minutes around here! :) Kevin, thanks for that info. I will definitely get a picture up close of a leaf, if I can find one under the foot of snow that I have in the yard right now. Checking with the UNH Cooperative Extension is a great idea if I stump this group (no pun intended). That one that you sent is only about 5 miles away from my house. And, the link that you sent (http://midwestlandscapeplants.org/photos/0021.jpg) isn't really all that close, the branches are mostly sticking up on that one. Mine is really droopy, for lack of a better term, but I am not sure if the tree does that in the winter or not on its own. Cousin It is a perfect way to describe it. You might be onto something there. Will, the branches are a lighter shade of brown, maybe like a cappuccino color. The bark, from what I remember, is pretty smooth, like a cherry tree or a birch tree. Will, out of those pics you sent, the structure of the tree looks a little like these ones. Leaves are harder, since I really didn't pay any attention to it until the leaves fell off. http://www.woodscreeknursery.com/images/Nursery/021025-051-640.JPG http://www.woodscreeknursery.com/images/Nursery/021025-053-640.JPG http://www.woodscreeknursery.com/images/Nursery/021025-054-640.JPG I will upload a web gallery tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for all the help! Never thought I could waste this kind of time on a tree!
