How do you feel about the Apple Software Update for keeping up with the patches? I personally can't stand it. I hate that it groups trivial updates, like a point release of iTunes for AOL users, along with the actual security updates. So it pops up no matter the severity.
And even if you don't particularly want some updates, there's no way to remove them from your list. You can uncheck them, but that's it. I don't have an iPod. I don't have a web cam. So why the hell is it trying to update my iPod and iSight drivers? And I don't even want iCal. But it HAS to show up in the list. Ugh. Just one of the many little anti-user-friendly things I hate about OS X. I think I'm particularly annoyed because Apple gets so much (undue, IMO) praise for high useability. -Kevin On Fri, 14 Jan 2005 10:21:43 -0600, Jim Campbell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I will point out that our primary computer is a Mac, so that helps, but > I like to think I'm not a drooling Apple fanatic enough to never presume > that the Mac is /never/ going to be vulnerable, and take the same > reasonable measures with it as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Flash for programmers - Flash MX Pro http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=56 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:142528 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
