I enjoyed the movie thoroughly :-)
I thought it had a nice twist in the end that I didn't see coming.
I thought the acting was good, the story was refreshing and the settings and
camera work was just right for the story's elements and
characters.

The government has mandated no fly zones in the past.Someone with enough money
and influence could get an area designated as a No
Fly zone. There are villages etc. in the US where outsiders seldom go.

The people were living in a state of mind that didn't allow them to travel. The
father thought he could send his daughter, indeed
that he could not stop her if she really wanted to go. The elders weren't the
sanest of people.

I don't think that you're a doctor. The pain and shock of getting stabbed that
someone who would never even have thought it possible
for one human being to inflict such injury on another, must be great. Lucius
was an extremely peaceful person for whom person on
person violence to produce such injury would have been unthinkable, and
unimaginable. I don't think anyone is in a position to say
how someone will react when a knife is thrust deep into their stomach
unexpectedly.
Some people still erroneouly believe that getting shot in the arm or leg is
'safe'. They don't know that just the force and
resulting systemic shock of a bullet penetrating your body and impacting organs
anywhere is enough to kill some. It's only in
hollywood that every tom dick and harry can get shot in the leg and get up and
hobble about, or continue fighting. There's no 'safe'
place to get shot, just as there is no 'safe' place to get stabbed.

First, it's completely unbelieveable that so many people could have thought
moving into an isolated community and that they all
could have kept a secret like that. Also, even though there was the bit about
paying government agencies to restrict air traffic
over their land (like that could ever happen), it was a lame attempt at
plugging up a plot hole involving modern society happening
upon their village.

Then, the father lets his blind daughter set out on a journey through the woods
saying that he couldn't go. Come on now...no father
would have done the same thing.

Finally, when Lucius gets stabbed in the stomach he goes down immediately and
lies completely prone and not moving while Noah takes
his time in coming over to stab him again...very unbelievable. A stab in the
stomach would not cause a person to immediately fall
down and lie motionless.

Argh - did I mention that this was a bad, bad movie?
