Here is another thought on the issue:

If I say 'girlfriend' does that mean I love her
Less since I did not refer to her as my 'partner'?

Sorry I now say my wife and very very happy in doing so.

Hey, I don't make up the rules, I'm just passing the info along.
I don't say "partner" I say "hubby" :D
And I could give a fid less what anyone calls anyone for that matter ...
