She is in what is called a persitent vegitative state. Minimal brain
wave function, about the same about you'd get if you put a bowl of
jello on the eeg and put the electrodes on it. According to the
released medical records a CAT scan and MRI showed significant
deterioration in the cerebral cortex - the images (if I can find them
again) showed that most of the cortex had atrophied and died. There is
nothing left of what made Ms. Shiavo herself.

Moreover are you saying that the parents word is more important than
her husband's in terms of who should decide her fate?
