Do they have to just have 1 head, 2 arms and 2 legs? Too bad ;) Actually, I'm not sure. You will get some radiation in the x-ray wavelength from a CRT. Electron beams are so much fun. The servers shouldn't emit much radiation except for any intrinsic to the components. There are no electron accelerators in servers that I know of. As for the overlapping EM fields produced by the servers, I don't know that they produce any long term mutations by themselves. They might even help you by redirecting the x-rays from the CRT.
Do you notice an aurora effect when you turn out the lights? I'm in an office in front of a 21 inch monitor with 2 racks of servers about 10 feet away from me. I'm here like 8 hours a day for the last 5 months. What's the average background EM radiation count in such a situation and is it dangerous? I want more kids! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:145559 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
