I have a Treo 300 with unlimited data, however, I have no way of connecting it to my laptop. If you can physically do this with the 650 using a special cable, I would go for it.
Most service providers want you to buy their PCMCIA cards *and* a separate data plan to support laptops. That is why you don't hear much about using the phone as the dial-up connection. You might want to ask around www.treocentral.com first, however. Those tech geeks probably have the best answers. He's been told that he can get an unlimited data plan for $15 extra a month and use it with his laptop via DUN. Has anyone else done this? I know AT&T(cingular) will charge you extra for using your cell via DUN, at least they tried to charge me. Thanks -- Invite 50 Friends to Gmail!
