hey all, this little "problem" has been bugging me for a couple of years
now, and it is time i figured out how to fix it.

when I start up my box (win 2K), the normal startup screens all pop up,
everything works fine, except the screen shows an old wallpaper for about
30 seconds to 1 minute while the "final" loading occurs. once the toolbars
and background programs are running, my normal wallpaper replaces the
old. why is it that the old wallpaper won't go away?

this wouldn't be so bad, but the old wallpaper had *ahem* questionable
content (alcohol references aren't good at work :)) and i would like to get
rid of it. isn't there a setting somewhere that I can just tell the OS to
display a black blank screen while it is loading up, rather than the
current one?

any ideas?

Ray
