I cant speak for the Orchard, but the Rex _is_ more vacationy than the
other hotels. The first thing you'd notice is that it isn't a
high-rise, but rather a small building that blends in nicely with the
neighborhood. I felt very much 'at home' when staying there, and on
my second visit, I was greeted by name. No big deal, right? Well, as
far as they were concerned, I'm in their system as "Brian", as that's
what is on my ID and credit card, but I go by "Patrick" - and much to
my surprise, before I even got to the counter, someone recognized my
face, and greeted my by the 'right' name.

The rooms are quaint... roomy enough, yet homeish.

I put this on pause for a hour or so while I had to go off to a
meeting, so to wrap it up, it's a small, personable hotel, fairly
priced, well staffed and located, and has a pretty dedicated
following.
