To give you an idea of what the Mounties are like, after Custer was killed the Sioux tribes fled up to Canada, pursued by the US Army. After the Indians crossed the border they were met by one lone Mountie. The US army showed up a short time later. The Mountie told the American to leave or else. The US army left, very fast.
