What strikes me is that, if we turn the spin dial to the other side,
this started out as a loving husband's tragedy:

His wife had a tragic accident that left her in a PVS which he tried
to treat for years to no avail. From there he had to try to pick up
the pieces of his life and, at some point, make the gut wrenching
decision about what to do with her.

What should've been a private medical decision all of a sudden became
a very public one. Not only did the husband have to endure the
accident and loss of his wife, but the legal battle, and finally the
character attacks by people who not only didn't know him or his wife,
but weren't familiar with the facts.

Talk about kicking a guy when he's down and piling on ...

So, maybe those doing the kicking are afraid that an autopsy will
reveal that Mr. Schiavo was right all along and that the monsters are
the kickers who inserted themselves into a private matter they had no
business being in.

If the autopsy shows not only a lack of abuse, but also a true PVS, if
I'd been a kicker I'd feel pretty ignorant, guilty, and unethical.

If I were Mr. Schiavo I'd start suing for defamation, slander, and
libel. Then I'd write a book and sell the movie rights. The best
revenge is success!
