Speaking of Rush concerts... The soundman for the Goodrats told me a story about when they opened for Rush at the Nassau Coliseum in the late 80's. He walked behind the giant wall of Marshal stacks and noticed an old Fender twin reverb amp all beat up and duck taped together with a microphone in front of it. He asked Rush's soundman what it was for and was told that the Marshals were just for show. Alex always went straight from that little amp to the PA.
