I put little into consumer ratings. I bought a Honda Accord because of 
consumer ratings, I really loved my choice when the transmission died and a 
USED one cost me $2400. I know a lot of VW's get bad ratings, I personally 
know quite a few people with them and none of them have any more or less 
problems than any other car. I do think they made some Jettas for awhile 
though that had electrical issues.
