It was a barracuda, I believe :)

My oldest daughter is going to be 3 very soon, and Nemo is one of her 
absolute favorite movies. The opening scene is a little intense, 
granted...and at first my wife and I were a bit concerned that it might have 
been too much for her, but she seems none the worse for wear.

It's not like you actually -see- the mom getting devoured. Is it really any 
worse than Bambi's mom getting shot?
