I'm not designer, but I would find the darkest green you can feasibly use, then create some tints (lighten) of that color. Most of the graphics programs can handle that. I think Fireworks shows you the tints in 10% increments.
You could scan a greenbar report and get the colors from that. Or, just use the scanned image as your background.
