That's really unfortunate, and a big problem with Lucasfilm marketing.  
Their merchandice/co-branding are mainly focused at children, while 
their main product may well be inappropriate for children.  I think 
Lucas put you in an awkward situation.

It would be better for him to see the original A New Hope, though I 
remember seeing that when I was 5.  It was pretty scary to see Darth 
breaking the neck of the rebel officer.
