Well, I finally got the news of what my pay will be for the coming year.
I received a whopping 1% increase. From what I hear, this was common
for just about everyone on the campus.

I have never received such a poor raise except when I didn't receive a
raise at all one year. Not receiving a raise would have been better
because I wouldn't have to change my Quicken auto-pay value.

What a pity that we claim to be one of the best universities in the
country, but can't afford to pay the employees that keep it running.

Now, my raise will just about put an extra tank of gas in the car once a
month.

In other news, the Asst VP that pretty much threw the entire dept in an
uproar has decided to go back to teaching. He was in the position for
only a single year.

Also, it's a catch-22. We get rewarded on personal growth, but the
university cannot afford to send anyone to any training or conferences.

However, a select group of brass are able to fly to our sister campus in
England each year. Hmmm...

"But, Bob, that just makes me want to work hard enough to keep from
losing my job."
