She is using CF to generate the calendar on the fly. Unfortunately the
project I am working on is static HTML. I took a gig for a high profile
client that requires me to create static HTML to hand over to their jsp/java
developers. Basically I'm just coding the story boards, adding in the client
side validation as best I can.

I think I may have found a DHTML widget that I can modify enough to suffice.

You may want to check out Selene Bainum's Javascript based Date Select
Popup. Its very simple and may work well for you.
